From the recording Still Moving

Lyrics

I don’t know how I got here it’s like my thoughts have been erased.

Yesterday it’s seems like someone else was caught up in the chase.

Now the sun is hot, but your skin is cool to the touch.

As we lay beneath the silent azure sky my love for you is all too much.

A sudden burst of clarity pulls me from this scene.

I see a house in the country and a table set for three.

Then she reaches out for me, but I pull myself awake.

If I’ve died and gone to heaven it has to be a beautiful mistake.

Can I speak to who’s in charge here?

I left before she got to kiss me.

I know she must be worried, soon she and my little boy will miss me.

Am I just a dreamer, dreaming I’m awake?

No matter what it is I know it’s all a beautiful mistake.

Water beads upon your face and brown eyes-only inches from my own.

I have a desire to take you, but I can’t, ‘cause I know we’re not alone.

But sand and sky for miles wraps around an endless pristine lake.

I think I want to stay here, but I know it’s all a beautiful mistake.

Can I speak to who’s in charge here?

I left before she got to kiss me.

I know she must be worried, soon she and my little boy will miss me.

Am I just a dreamer, dreaming I’m awake?

No matter what it is, I know it’s all a beautiful mistake.

I created the earth and the heavens and everything in less than a week.

And in my image I made man, gave him thoughts and words to speak.

But lately I’ve been worried that the tree of life is just about to break.

So you see my son, you’re just a part of one big, beautiful mistake.
